A podcast for creatives to share their frustrations in the arts, dig up their roots and find solutions through conversation.
In each episode, we have conversations with creative practitioners from around the world. We discover parts of their lived experiences, their project or research, and uncover the causes of the challenges in their respective fields. These informative, entertaining and honest conversations will enable us to better understand the inner workings of the creative sector.
Season 1: Art for the many and not the few, oh wait?
Cultural institutions have been claiming they will improve ethnic diversity. However, in the UK, more than 90% of the highest-funded theatre CEOs are white (Snow, 2020). How can we try to be, regardless of our skin colour, better allies?
Join us in exploring issues these issues, with Kaya, Marina and Rachel. Their grassroot projects Mother Tongues and the Museum of Half Truths, work towards a more diverse and inclusive art sector. Through conversation, we learn about the need to decolonize language and about our inherent racial gaze.

Episode 1: Exploring language and representation

In this episode, we trace back to colonial times, to analyse today’s oppressive structures. The founders of Mother Tongues and the Museum of Half Truths, also explain why decolonizing language and decolonizing the gaze are necessary to make ethnic inequalities less worse.
Episode 2: Allyship through practice
In this episode, we learn about the practicalities of those ideas.
