We were commissioned by Brighton Centre for the Contemporary Arts to respond to their Communal: Passages of Time digital programme.
Given Covid-19 guidelines we translated what was originally a 5 hour interactive and performative workshop into a series of livestreams and ‘research walls’ to share our research process. These walls were curated around themes of self-organising groups, art collectives and community formation rituals.
These collaborative, visual and textual grids, lay the foundation for you to join in UnderExposed’s investigation, discussion, thinking and rituals as mode for a future, collective action in response to 'COMMUNAL: Passages of Time.'
Below you will find our three visual brainstorms, titled ‘Walls of Reference’ alongside a fourth one which came out of the research and discussion from the participants involved in our concluding Communal Rituals online workshop.
You can also listen to the audio mini-series uncovering our research and the process behind 'COMMUNAL: Passages of Time.' Please note that conversations were recorded from an Instagram Livestream, so the sound quality is not optimum.
